So I tend not to go for flashy fancy trend designs that go out of fashion quickly. And I kinda steer away from bags that are too common in my circles. (Cue visuals of the Chanel Boy Bag which was on every other influencer's arm the past few years.) I will opt for interesting colors but mainly in classic shapes, like the Saint Laurent Y Cabas in a luxurious pale beige, and a Balenciaga A4 Papier medium tote because I love the biker grunge elements, but find the City bag waaaaay too common.
And these are bags that have lasted me for at least 6 years now. I still love them, and I'm getting great mileage out of the investments. I've been lemming the Mansur Gavriel bucket bags since they launched, but am glad I held off and waited for 1-year, 3-year reviews, because it does look like the leather is very prone to scratches and water stains, and just not as high-quality as they might want us to believe.
(That said, I'm still lemming their gorgeous circle bag and the be-ribboned sun bag.)
What am I currently lemming? The new Givenchy Mystic. It's got a classic silhouette that looks almost vintage, and they come in the most amazing colors as well. But I'm holding off, because sometimes the fervor goes away after a few weeks of not looking at it. Then I know it's going to be a bag regret if I buy it.
In any case, if you're more interested in what's INSIDE the bags than what's outside, just click the video!
